OXO Architectes, architecture practice in Paris
OXO Architectes is a French architecture practice founded in 2010 in Paris by Manal Rachdi, an architect trained in biology, geology and architecture. Based in Montreuil (Greater Paris), the practice is known for its biomimetic, bio-inspired approach: nature is not a decorative layer but a primary material of each project.
Manal Rachdi practises what he calls a sensitive archaeology of context: a deep reading of the site, its climate, uses and memory before any drawing. He was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2025 and received the 2025 International Architecture Award (Chicago Athenaeum).
The practice works across six fields: collective housing, public and educational buildings, offices, mixed-use urban programmes, cultural projects and sustainable architecture. Landmark projects include the Arbre Blanc tower in Montpellier (with Sou Fujimoto Architects and Laisné Roussel, completed 2019), Mille Arbres spanning the Paris ring road, Art'chipel in Marseille, the Shared Teaching Building of École Polytechnique in Saclay, Le Cristal and Le Rocher in Nanterre.
